General information

The Mazarol Guides are always available for easy and interesting excursions by bicycle in order to discover the nature and the many trails between the Park, Valbelluna, Left Bank of the Piave (“Sinistra Piave”), Alpago and so on. There are many trails that can be done together by bicycle, always on slopes with inclines which are not too steep, and that allow one to move amongst villages and hamlets, along un-tarred country lanes and forest routes at the pleasant shadow of trees. A soft and sustainable way of moving about the territory, always accompanied by the Mazarol Guides, who are also certified “MTB Escorts” — a qualification awarded by AMIBIKE Italia.

CYCLING TOURISM AND THE “OSTELLO ALTANON”

The ideal starting point for a nice holiday on two wheels is the town of Santa Giustina, right at the center of the Valbelluna, where one can also arrive by train, with a service that allows the transportation of bicycles from Padua and Venice, and from which — with just a short ride along the “Via dell’Acqua” of the Veses stream — one soon reaches the Ostello Altanon (Altanon Hostel), which is run by the Mazarol Guides together with the consortium “Consorzio InDolomiti”. The Hostel — strong>a bike-friendy point inserted within the circuit Dolomites Bike Club —, puts at one’s disposition a well-equipped and practical workshop for the ordinary maintenance of your bicycle, useful bike-racks and a surveilled deposit, located indoors, for longer stays. From here, it is also possible to displace oneself by bike along numerous easy or more demanding trails amongst nature, history, a humanity all to be discovered and always new landscapes to be admired.

The Guides of the Mazarol Co-op are all Nature-Environmental Guides who are specialized in this field, overseeing the excursions and dealing with the promotion of the culture and the territory of the Dolomiti Bellunesi. Typically, they are also official guides of the Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi (Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park): a title that makes them ideal tour leaders, who can assist with the discovery of the territory at its best and in absolute safety.
