General information

These are long-haul high altitude treks, always along excursionist trails, with overnight accommodation in Alpine Huts (‘Rifugi’), where it is always a pleasure to get to in the evening, after a full day of walking with the rucksack on one’s shoulders, and many elements to be seen along the way, discovered and enjoyed also thanks to the Mazarol guides. These are trails for trained trekkers, able to hike for more days consecutively — but the hard work is always abundantly repaid by the beauty of the sceneries, the peace of the places encountered, and the simple and healthy rhythm of the mountains. This is the most beautiful holiday, always interesting and conducted in absolute safety thanks to the skill of the Mazarol guides.

PEACE TREKKING ALONG THE TRAILS OF WW1

In the occasion of the Centenary of WW1, we propose a series of treks with the Mazarol guides to the most important places in which the conflict took place: a harsh, difficult war, as tough as the mountains which saw it as setting, in a land that withstood this tragic page of history. The treks will be both in some areas of the Dolomiti Bellunesi, in the Grappa massif and in the Pre-alps of Vicenza.

These treks of ours are in fact not just celebratory acts, but they will allow us to contemplate the importance of universal values such as peace and solidarity, by telling the historic events especially from a human point of view, and by highlighting the courage, strength and toil of so many simple human lives, involved by the events and witness to a history much bigger than themselves. We will walk through beautiful landscapes, taking in the peace that must now continue to reign here.

A PROFESSIONAL APPROACH FOCUSED ON SAFETY

The Guides of the Mazarol Co-op are all Nature-Environmental Guides who are specialized in this field, overseeing the excursions and dealing with the promotion of the culture and the territory of the Dolomiti Bellunesi. Typically, they are also official guides of the Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi (Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park): a title that makes them ideal tour leaders, who can assist with the discovery of the territory at its best and in absolute safety.
