Differently from many other magical characters of legends, who are timid and live camouflaged in the surrounding environment, the cunning Mazarol (an elf) is not afraid of anybody, and it is relatively easy to spot him in the woodland thanks to his vividly red-colored clothes; its beard and hair are red too. The name Mazarol derives from the knobbly stick, which he always keeps at hand to help himself walk, but also to hit whoever disturbs him — or those who break the quiet of nature in a mountain setting.
